What to pay attention to when choosing coffee

How to choose a coffee variety?

When getting acquainted with our beans and the world of specialty coffee in general, we recommend starting with the basic Culture line, as well as the Passion line. Coffee from these categories is accessible, with a fairly simple and understandable taste.

If you are an avid coffee enthusiast or want to try something new, feel free to try Impressoin and Boutique lots.

Pay attention to the taste descriptions of the lots. And if you need help choosing, [link:write to us], and we will help.

How to choose the roast level?

We offer medium and light roast coffee.

Choose espresso roast if you brew coffee in an espresso machine. For all other brewing methods, filter roast is the ideal option, as it is slightly lighter.

To grind coffee or not?

The most ideal option is to grind a portion of coffee immediately before brewing. This way the coffee will be maximally tasty and aromatic, and will also last longer.

If this is not possible, we can grind the coffee for free upon your request. Select the desired grind level when adding the product to the cart.

A hand coffee grinder will soon be available in our store in the [link:Accessories] section.

How best to store coffee?

It is best to store coffee in our branded packaging, which has a zip-lock and is equipped with a special degassing valve, so it is airtight and does not let air inside. This way the beans will retain their flavor and aroma properties longer.

It is important to ensure that the beans are not exposed to temperature fluctuations and high humidity. For storage, choose a dry and dark place, such as a kitchen cabinet.

Lot: Asumare Country of Origin: Peru Region: Cajamarca Producer: Querofinca, Alex Barrantes Variety: Typica Processing Method: Washed, anaerobic After reception, the coffee cherries are sorted, with only ripe, high-quality fruit selected. The whole cherries are then placed in sealed tanks for anaerobic fermentation, where the controlled oxygen-free environment helps develop a more complex and expressive flavour profile. Once fermentation is complete, the cherries are depulped, removing the skin and pulp. The beans are thoroughly washed to remove any remaining pulp and mucilage before being dried to the required moisture level. A very light and easy-drinking coffee, reminiscent of a cold peach tea. In the cup you will find notes of rose and ripe nectarine, complemented by hints of raspberry seed and black tea. The body is smooth and velvety. The acidity is pronounced yet soft and rounded, with a pleasant warming sensation. The cup is juicy, clean, and very approachable, with a pronounced fruity-tea character. Querofinca is a small five-hectare farm located in Queromarca, in the province of Cutervo, Cajamarca, in northern Peru. Its name combines “Quero,” taken from the name of the local area, Queromarca, and the Spanish word finca, meaning “farm.” Alex Barrantes grew up in a coffee-producing family and learned coffee cultivation from his father. Today, he runs his own project at Querofinca, with a strong focus on coffee quality and sustainable farming practices. The farm grows Typica, Caturra, and Pink Bourbon, incorporating agroforestry practices while preserving the natural vegetation. Alex’s goal is to make Querofinca an example of how a small farm can work simultaneously towards coffee quality, sustainable production, and the development of the local community.
