What to pay attention to when choosing coffee

How to choose a coffee variety?

When getting acquainted with our beans and the world of specialty coffee in general, we recommend starting with the basic Culture line, as well as the Passion line. Coffee from these categories is accessible, with a fairly simple and understandable taste.

If you are an avid coffee enthusiast or want to try something new, feel free to try Impressoin and Boutique lots.

Pay attention to the taste descriptions of the lots. And if you need help choosing, [link:write to us], and we will help.

How to choose the roast level?

We offer medium and light roast coffee.

Choose espresso roast if you brew coffee in an espresso machine. For all other brewing methods, filter roast is the ideal option, as it is slightly lighter.

To grind coffee or not?

The most ideal option is to grind a portion of coffee immediately before brewing. This way the coffee will be maximally tasty and aromatic, and will also last longer.

If this is not possible, we can grind the coffee for free upon your request. Select the desired grind level when adding the product to the cart.

A hand coffee grinder will soon be available in our store in the [link:Accessories] section.

How best to store coffee?

It is best to store coffee in our branded packaging, which has a zip-lock and is equipped with a special degassing valve, so it is airtight and does not let air inside. This way the beans will retain their flavor and aroma properties longer.

It is important to ensure that the beans are not exposed to temperature fluctuations and high humidity. For storage, choose a dry and dark place, such as a kitchen cabinet.

COLOMBIA EL JARDIN

COLOMBIA EL JARDIN

16 €

Lot: El Jardin Country of Origin: Colombia Region: Risaralda Producer: Jorge Bravo, Jardin de Linares Variety: Castillo Processing Method: Washed After harvest, the cherries are depulped and the coffee undergoes fermentation for 12–16 hours, depending on weather conditions. The coffee is then dried, most often in the sun, although mechanical drying is used during periods of rain. The drying process takes up to two weeks in total. During hulling, the coffee is further sorted, with only the largest and highest-quality beans being selected. A classic washed Colombian Arabica profile. In the cup, expect vibrant acidity with notes of red berries and citrus. As the coffee cools, flavors reminiscent of orange jelly, milk chocolate mousse, and yellow apple emerge. The sweetness is pronounced, with panela-like characteristics. The body is tea-like, light, and clean. Don Jorge Emilio Bravo grows coffee on his farm, El Jardin de Linares, located in the municipality of Santa Rosa de Cabal, Risaralda, at the foothills of the Nevado del Ruiz volcano, at elevations between 1,600 and 1,800 meters above sea level. Thanks to the region’s cool climate, where temperatures rarely exceed 22°C, the harvest begins later than in most Colombian coffee-growing regions — typically in November. The Castillo variety expresses a classic Colombian flavor profile with notes of fruit, red berries, and chocolate.
